There are at least three distinct mechanisms by which iron deficiency (ID) contributes to the development of cardiac disorders. Superselective adrenal artery embolization (SAAE) has increasingly emerged as an alternative treatment for primary aldosteronism (PA) patients who either unwilling or unable to undergo surgical adrenalectomy, and cannot tolerate or refuse to mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists (MRAs). Although SAAE has been applied in PA treatment for over two decades, its safety and efficacy are still uncertain due to absence of multi-center, randomized controlled trials, hindering its widespread clinical adoption. Currently, only a few centers could perform this procedure proficiently, leading to variability in technical protocols and clinical outcomes across different institutions.

Purpose: The management of acute heart failure (AHF) is crucial and challenging. Regarding the use of inotropes, correct patient selection and time of administration are of the essence. We hypothesize that the early use of Levosimendan favouring hemodynamic stabilization and enables rapid optimization of guideline-directed medical treatment (GDMT) in patients with HF, eventually impacting the patient's prognosis during the vulnerable phase.

Nuclear receptors (NRs) are ligand-activated transcription factors that regulate gene expression in response to physiological signals, such as hormones and other chemical messengers. These receptors either activate or repress the transcription of target genes, which in turn promotes or suppresses physiological processes governing growth, differentiation, and homeostasis. NRs bind to specific DNA sequences and, in response to ligand binding, either promote or hinder the assembly of the transcriptional machinery, thereby influencing gene expression at the transcriptional level.
