The designs of in vivo, in vitro and in silico studies do not adequately reflect the characteristics of long-term occupational EMF exposure; the higher exposure levels permitted for employees are nevertheless extrapolated on this basis. Epidemiological studies consider occupational exposure only in a very general way, if at all. There is a lack of detailed descriptive data on long-term occupational exposure over the duration of the working life.

We propose the deep Gauss-Newton (DGN) algorithm. The DGN allows one to take into account the knowledge of the forward model in a deep neural network by unrolling a Gauss-Newton optimization method. No regularization or step size needs to be chosen; they are learned through convolutional neural networks.

Robotized Cochlear Implantation under Fluoroscopy: A Preliminary Series.

J Clin Med

December 2022

Department of Radiology, University Hospital Center, Hospital Gabriel Montpied, 58, Rue Montalembert, 63000 Clermont-Ferrand, France.

It is known that visual feedback by fluoroscopy can detect electrode array (EA) misrouting within the cochlea while robotized EA-insertion (rob-EAI) permits atraumatic cochlear implantation. We report here our unique experience of both fluoroscopy feedback and rob-EAI in cochlear implant surgery. We retrospectively analyzed a cohort of consecutive patients implanted from November 2021−October 2022 using rob-EAI, with the RobOtol®, to determine the quality of EA-insertion and the additional time required.

We propose a nonlinear primal-dual algorithm for the retrieval of phase shift and absorption from a single x ray in-line phase contrast, or Fresnel diffraction, image. The algorithm permits us to regularize phase and absorption separately. We demonstrate that taking into account the nonlinearity in the reconstruction improves reconstruction compared with linear methods.

Background: Organoids are a reliable model used in the study of human brain development and under pathological conditions. However, current methods for brain organoid culture generate tissues that range from 0.5 to 2 mm of size, which need to be constantly agitated to allow proper oxygenation.
