Aims: Prolonged waits for hip and knee arthroplasty have raised questions about the equity of current approaches to waiting list prioritization for those awaiting surgery. We therefore set out to understand key stakeholder (patient and surgeon) preferences for the prioritization of patients awaiting such surgery, in order to guide future waiting list redesign.
Methods: A combined qualitative/quantitative approach was used.

Aims: While COVID-19 no longer presents a global health emergency, the indirect (non-infection) impacts of the pandemic may exacerbate health inequalities in years to come. We examined the socio-economic distribution of the impacts of the pandemic on the psychosocial and economic well-being of children, young people and their families.
Methods: The CoRonavIruS Health Impact Survey (CRISIS) was conducted in seven existing longitudinal cohorts, together involving n = 3072 participants aged 0-19 years.

Unlabelled: Recombination is a significant factor driving the evolution of RNA viruses. The prevalence and variation of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) in China have been increasing in complexity due to extensive interlineage recombination. When this recombination phenomenon occurs in live vaccine strains, it becomes increasingly difficult to prevent and control PRRSV.

Background: Problems in children's early social and emotional development are likely to have major long-term consequences for the individual and society: maternal emotional well-being is associated with better outcomes. Interventions designed to improve both maternal mental health and the mother-child relationship are thus likely to benefit both maternal health and child development.
Objectives: To establish the clinical and cost-effectiveness of the Mellow Babies parenting intervention for women experiencing psychosocial stress and their 6- to 18-month-old babies.

Quantitative PCR (qPCR) and digital PCR (dPCR) are applied for quantifying molecular targets in disease diagnostics, pathogen detection and ecological monitoring. Uptake of dPCR is increasing due to its higher quantification accuracy relative to qPCR which stems from its independence from standard curves and its increased resistance to PCR inhibitors. Throughput can be increased through multiplexing, which allows simultaneous quantification of multiple targets.
