Event timing is manifested when participants make discrete movements such as repeatedly tapping a key. Emergent timing is manifested when participants make continuous movements such as repeatedly drawing a circle. Here we pursued the possibility that providing salient perceptual events to mark the completion of time intervals could allow circle drawing and tapping to share a common timing process. Individual differences in timing performance were correlated in the tapping and circle drawing tasks when a salient auditory event marked the completion of a cycle. The results suggest that the distinction between event timing and emergent timing does not inhere solely in kinematics but inheres as well in the way task goals are represented.

Optimizing the longevity of vascular access in hemodialysis patients remains a critical aspect of patient care, given the significant role of arteriovenous fistulas (AVFs) and arteriovenous grafts (AVGs) in enabling effective dialysis. Vascular access complications, such as stenosis, thrombosis, and cannulation-related damage, continue to challenge both the functionality and the sustainability of these access points. Recent advancements underscore the importance of a robust follow-up strategy, integrating clinical evaluations with diagnostic tools like color Doppler ultrasound (CDU) and emerging interventional approaches such as drug-coated balloon (DCB) angioplasty.

In today's data-intensive atmosphere, performance evaluation in the banking industry depends on timely and accurate insights, leading to better decision making and operational efficiency. Traditional methods for assessing bank performance often need to be improved to handle the volume, velocity, and variety of data generated in real time. This study proposes an event-driven approach for performance evaluation in banking alongside a Hadoop-based architecture.

Background: The pharmacoinvasive (PhI) strategy is the standard-of-care for ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients when primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pPCI) is unfeasible. Optimal timing for post-fibrinolytic PCI (lysis-PCI) remains elusive. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the clinical and economic impacts of early vs.

To forecast how fast populations can adapt to climate change, it is essential to determine the evolutionary potential of different life-cycle stages under selection. In birds, timing of gonadal development and moult are primarily regulated by photoperiod, while laying date is highly phenotypically plastic to temperature. We tested whether geographic variation in phenology of these life-cycle events between populations of great tits () has a genetic basis, indicating that contemporary genetic adaptation is possible.
