A rich literature in bioethics argues against the use of anonymous gamete donation in the name of the 'interest in knowing one's genetic origins'. This interest stems from medical as well as psychosocial and identity reasons. The term 'genealogical bewilderment' has been coined to express the predicament of those deprived of access to information about their origins.

Parents and clinicians caring for infants with neurologic disease often make high-stakes decisions about infant care. To characterize how these decisions occur, we enrolled infants with neurologic conditions, their parents, and their clinicians in a longitudinal mixed methods study of decision making. We audio recorded family conferences as they occurred and analyzed conferences using a directed content analysis approach.

In March 2020, SARS-CoV-2 declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. Restrictive isolation measures have also brought psychological distress to the pediatric population. However, studies show disparate uptake among marginalized communities, where minority patients experience higher infection rates. We examined changes in pediatric telemedicine utilization as related to social determinants of health and characteristics of families accessing care.
