Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to evaluate the benefits and risks of methylphenidate for treating ADHD in kids and teens by analyzing data from multiple clinical trials.
  • The results showed methylphenidate had a positive effect on ADHD symptoms and general behavior ratings, particularly from teachers, without increasing serious adverse events, but it did raise the risk of non-serious side effects.
  • However, most of the trials were deemed to have a high risk of bias, and the overall quality of the evidence was classified as very low.
