It has been demonstrated that the vectorial fringe-direction field is very important to demodulate fringe patterns without a dominant (or carrier) frequency. Unfortunately, the computation of this direction-filed is by far the most difficult task in the full interferogram phase-demodulation process. In this paper we present an algorithm to estimate this fringe-direction vector-field of a single n-dimensional fringe pattern. Despite that our theoretical results are valid at any dimension in the Euclidean space, we present some computer-simulated results in three dimensions because it is the most useful case in practical applications. As herein demonstrated, our method is based on linear matrix and vector analysis, this translates into a low computational cost.

The cotton mealybug , a globally invasive insect, is listed as a national quarantine pest in agriculture and forestry, which seriously threatens biological safety of China. Niche conservatism is a key assumption of species distribution model. An evaluation of the applicability of using ecological niche models to assess the invasion risk of cotton mealybug, and further optimizing model complexity, are of both theoretical and practical significance.

This paper introduces a new modeling framework for the statistical analysis of point patterns on a manifold defined by a connected and compact two-point homogeneous space, including the special case of the sphere. The presented approach is based on temporal Cox processes driven by a -valued log-intensity. Different aggregation schemes on the manifold of the spatiotemporal point-referenced data are implemented in terms of the time-varying discrete Jacobi polynomial transform of the log-risk process.

Autoencoders are commonly used in representation learning. They consist of an encoder and a decoder, which provide a straightforward method to map -dimensional data in input space to a lower -dimensional representation space and back. The decoder itself defines an -dimensional manifold in input space.

We study the effect of many-body quantum interference on the dynamics of coupled periodically kicked systems whose classical dynamics is chaotic and shows an unbounded energy increase. We specifically focus on an N-coupled kicked rotors model: We find that the interplay of quantumness and interactions dramatically modifies the system dynamics, inducing a transition between energy saturation and unbounded energy increase. We discuss this phenomenon both numerically and analytically through a mapping onto an N-dimensional Anderson model.
