We report that an intrauterine contraceptive device (IUCD) embedded within intrauterine tumour (submucous myoma) in a postmenopausal woman was misdiagnosed, definitively diagnosed and successfully removed with hysteroscopic resection. Hysteroscopy and hysteroscopic resection of the submucous myoma with IUCD should be reserved as a minimally invasive, safe and reliable treatment method, and can avoid a laparotomy and hysterotomy. This is believed to be the first reported case of such an occurrence.

Objective: Diffuse uterine leiomyomatosis (DUL) is a unique growth pattern of fibroids that can lead to infertility. Due to numerous of myomas, a large amount of dilatant fluid as well as longer time are needed following traditional hysteroscopic myomectomy, and the absorption of irrigating fluids, combined with the pressure from uterine distension, can lead to fluid overload and/or dilutional hyponatremia, resulting in transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) syndrome. In this study, we proposed a recommended technique for treating DUL to prevent above mentioned complications.

Objective: Hysteroscopic myomectomy is widely regarded as safe and feasible, although achieving single-session results for larger myomas often requires alternative methods. This study introduces a novel approach: ultrasound-guided myoma extirpation using ring forceps combined with hysteroscopy.
Methods: This retrospective, single-center study includes patients who underwent ultrasound-guided myoma extirpation between 2016 and 2024.
