The selective Au deposition at the Au-substrate interface is known to give ultrathin Au nanowires and the synthesis usually employs strong thiol-based ligands. It is shown that, by increasing the rate of Au deposition, weak cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) can be made to behave like a strong ligand, so that it induces Active Surface Growth and gives Au nanowires. The ligand strength also depends on the packing interactions in the ligand layer, in the order of CTAB, CTAB, and CTAB.

This study explores the use of photoacoustic (PA) signals based on optical rotation estimation at multiple depths for detection of glucose concentrations. Experiments were performed with glucose samples mixed in bovine serum albumin with different polarization incidences-vertical (V), 45° linear (P), and right circular (R) polarization.

Hydrogels are promising wound dressings due to their extracellular matrix-like properties and tunable structure-function characteristics. Besides the physical isolation effect, hydrogel dressings are highly expected to possess tissue-adhesive performance and antibacterial capacity, which are beneficial for their clinical translations. Herein, a guar gum (GG)-based nanocomposite hydrogel was fabricated by mixing methacrylated GG (GGMA), acrylic acid, acrylated 3-aminophenylboronic acid, mangiferin (MF)-loaded cetyltrimethyl ammonium chloride (CTAC) micelles (MF@CTAC) and radical initiator.

The joint use of deep eutectic solvents (DESs) and cyclodextrins (CDs) has been well demonstrated to have a promoting effect on chiral separation in capillary electrophoresis (CE). These studies focused on constructing synergistic separation systems by adding DESs and CDs to the buffer solution respectively. In this work, for the first time, β-cyclodextrin (β-CD), methyl-β-cyclodextrin (M-β-CD), and hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HP-β-CD) were directly used as precursors to prepare several CDs-based deep eutectic supramolecules (DESUPs) by assembling with two organic acids (L-lactic acid and L-malic acid) in different ratios through a simple two-phase mixing.

2D Ruddlesden-Popper (RP) perovskites, upon inclusion of a chiral amine, exhibit chirality-induced spin selectivity (CISS). Although alloying at the halogen site in MBA-based RPs (MBA: methylbenzylammonium) is one of the suitable routes to tune the CISS effect, the mixed-halide RP perovskites exhibited complete suppression of chirality when probed through circular dichroism (CD). Here, we present the CISS effect in a series of mixed-halide RP perovskites.
