The authors report a novel white organic light-emitting device (WOLED), which uses a strategy of exciting organic/ inorganic color conversion film with a blue organic light-emitting diode (OLED). The luminescent layer of the blue OLED was prepared by use of CBP host blended with a blue highly fluorescent dye N-BDAVBi. The organic/inorganic color conversion film was prepared by dispersing a mixture of red pigment VQ-D25 and YAG : Ce3+ phosphor in PMMA. The authors have achieved a novel WOLED with the high color stability by optimizing the thickness and fluorescent pigment concentration of the color conversion film. When the driving voltage varied between 6 and 14 V, the color coordinates (CIE) varied slightly from (0.354, 0.304) to (0.357, 0.312) and the maximum current efficiency is about 5.8 cd x A(-1) (4.35 mA x cm(-2)), the maximum brightness is 16 800 cd x m(-2) at the operating voltage of 14 V.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) serve as potential biomarkers for many diseases such as cancer, neurodegenerative diseases and cardiovascular conditions. The portable and accurate detection of miRNA is of great significance for the early diagnosis, treatment optimization and prognostic evaluation of diseases. Herein, a photothermal/visual dual-mode assay for let-7a is developed utilizing oxidized 3, 3', 5, 5' - tetramethylbenzidine (oxTMB) as signal reporter.

The denatured bovine serum albumin (dBSA) is coupled with the CdTe/CdS quantum dot and the resulting CdTe/CdS@dBSA complex is assembled and retained in the poly(n-isopropyl acrylamide) (PNIPAM) hydrogel via regulating temperature and pH to form the CdTe/CdS@dBSA-PNIPAM fluorescence hydrogel substrate, which is able to adsorb and sense cadmium ions (Cd). Based on this fluorescence hydrogel, a fluorescence and colorimetric dual-mode detection system is established to quantitatively detect Cd with a limit of detection (LOD) of 2.88 nM for fluorescence detection and 11.

Latent fingerprints (LFPs) are invisible impressions that need to be developed before being used for criminal investigation; however, existing fingerprint visualization techniques face challenges, such as complex preparation and poor contrast. To advance practical fingerprint detection, green-emissive micron-sized curcumin/kaolin composites were synthesized a facile and cost-effective one-step physical cross-linking method, which exhibited unprecedented performance in developing diversified marks, including LFPs, knuckle prints, palm prints, and footprints, with clear three-level details on various substrates. Notably, the powders successfully developed LFPs that were aged for 30 days and even up to 100 days, meeting the stringent requirements for comprehensive forensic application.

The growing demand for novel enzyme producers to meet industrial and environmental needs has driven interest in lignocellulose-degrading fungi. In this study, lignocellulolytic enzyme production capabilities of environmental fungal isolates collected from boreal coniferous and nemoral summer green deciduous forests were investigated, using Congo Red, ABTS, and Azure B as indicators of cellulolytic and ligninolytic enzyme productions. Through qualitative and quantitative assays, the study aimed to identify promising species for lignocellulose-degrading enzyme secretion and assess their potential for biotechnological applications.

Variations in hue and contrast are common in H&E-stained pathology images due to differences in slide preparation across various institutions. Such stain variations, while not affecting pathologists much in diagnosing the biopsy, pose significant challenges for computer-assisted diagnostic systems, leading to potential underdiagnosis or misdiagnosis, especially when stain differentiation introduces substantial heterogeneity across datasets from different sources. Traditional stain normalization methods, aimed at mitigating these issues, often require labor-intensive selection of appropriate templates, limiting their practicality and automation.
