Objectives: The aim of this study was to describe the attitude of graduating medical doctors toward the use of sex selection techniques in Jordan in 2009. MATERIALS AND METHODS (DESIGN): A self-administered questionnaire was used to assess attitude toward using sex selection. Demographic variables, gender preference of future children, and score on attitude toward using technology scale were used as independent variables.

Results: A total of 254 doctors (178 males, 76 females) completed the questionnaire. Forty-one (16.1%) doctors thought that sex selection as PGD should be strictly prohibited and 45 (17.7%) thought it should be allowed freely. More than half (54.7%) of them thought it should only be available for medical reason. Only 59 (23.2%) reported that they may consider the use of sex selection technology to choose their future children. Participants who preferred their firstborn child to be a boy or those who preferred their first born child to be a girl were more likely to use sex selection than those without preference. Christian participants were more likely to use sex selection technology than Muslim participants, 9 (47.4%) versus 50 (21.3%). For each one-point increase in Attitude score, the odds of using sex selection increased by 20%.

Conclusions: The majority of graduating medical doctors believed that sex selection should be restricted and they were not willing to use it.

Inter-individual variability in symptoms and the dynamic nature of brain pathophysiology present significant challenges in constructing a robust diagnostic model for migraine. In this study, we aimed to integrate different types of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), providing structural and functional information, and develop a robust machine learning model that classifies migraine patients from healthy controls by testing multiple combinations of hyperparameters to ensure stability across different migraine phases and longitudinally repeated data. Specifically, we constructed a diagnostic model to classify patients with episodic migraine from healthy controls, and validated its performance across ictal and interictal phases, as well as in a longitudinal setting.

Intra-specific interactions among top carnivores are among the most intriguing behavioural aspects and essential components of population dynamics. Static interactions pertain to space use, while dynamic interactions involve spatio-temporal patterns influenced by social structure, distribution, mate selection, and density. Previous studies have focused on static interactions, successfully estimating spatial overlap but leading to a knowledge gap of dynamic interaction to be able to compute attraction and avoidance on similar spatio-temporal scales.

Introduction: Patients with hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) experience a 10-year diagnosis delay, on average. Accordingly, time to diagnosis represents one of the greatest unmet needs in HS, which to date has not been adequately addressed. A general lack of awareness about HS in the medical community and a notable heterogeneity in clinical presentation, which is most often confused with cutaneous abscess (CA), forms the basis of poor disease recognition and diagnosis delay.

Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, Seongnam, Korea, Republic of (South).

Background: To investigate the neuroanatomical characteristics at the whole-brain level associated with progression from amyloid-positive preclinical to prodromal Alzheimer's disease (AD) in relation to amyloid deposition and regional atrophy.

Method: We included 45 participants with amyloid-positive preclinical AD and 135 participants with prodromal AD matched 1:3 by age, sex, and education, from participants in the Korean Longitudinal Study on Cognitive Aging and Dementia and visitors to the dementia clinic of Seoul National University Bundang Hospital. All participants underwent F-florbetaben positron emission tomography and 3D structural T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging.
