A young woman who presented with chest pain was shown with CT and selective coronary angiography to have spontaneous dissections of her left anterior descending and distal right coronary arteries. She was managed with enoxaparin, aspirin, clopidogrel and metoprolol: she was well with a normal stress echocardiogram fourteen months later. Surgical intervention or angioplasty and stent deployment may be avoided in such patients if they are clinically stable.

In patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI), thrombolytic therapy and revascularization strategies allow complete recanalization of occluded epicardial coronary arteries. However, approximately 35% of patients still experience myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury, which contributing to increased AMI mortality. Therefore, an accurate understanding of myocardial I/R injury is important for preventing and treating AMI.

Artificial intelligence-based quantitative coronary angiography (AI-QCA) was introduced to address manual QCA's limitations in reproducibility and correction process. The present study aimed to assess the performance of an updated AI-QCA solution (MPXA-2000) in lesion detection and quantification using manual QCA as the reference standard, and to demonstrate its superiority over visual estimation. This multi-center retrospective study analyzed 1,076 coronary angiography images obtained from 420 patients, comparing AI-QCA and visual estimation against manual QCA as the reference standard.

Vascular calcification(VC) significantly increases the risk of cardiovascular events, leading to thickening of the myocardium and arteries, coronary heart disease, heart failure, and potentially triggering myocardial infarction and sudden cardiac death. Although VC is a reversible process, there are currently no methods or medications in clinical practice that can completely reverse or cure it. The current treatment strategies primarily focus on slowing the progression of VC and exploring new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, making the identification of early diagnostic markers for VC particularly important.

Atherogenesis is prone in medium and large-sized vessels, such as the aorta and coronary arteries, where hemodynamic stress is critical. Low and oscillatory wall shear stress contributes significantly to endothelial dysfunction and inflammation. Murray's law minimizes energy expenditure in vascular networks and applies to small arteries.

Background And Aims: Members of the CCN matricellular protein family are crucial in various biological processes. This study aimed to characterize vascular cell-specific effects of CCN5 on neointimal formation and its role in preventing in-stent restenosis (ISR) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
Methods: Stent-implanted porcine coronary artery RNA-seq and mouse injury-induced femoral artery neointima single-cell RNA sequencing were performed.
