Objective: To evaluate the one-hole method for high ligation of the internal spermatic vein by embryonic natural orifice transumbilical laparoscopy.
Methods: We used the one-hole method for high ligation of the internal spermatic vein by embryonic natural orifice transumbilical laparoscopy in the treatment of 15 cases of varicocele, 13 in the left and 2 in the right side, and appraised the treatment results by follow-up 1 month after the surgery.
Results: All the operations succeeded and no complications developed. The average operation time was 28 minutes and the mean hospital stay was 4 days. Symptoms were significantly relieved in all the patients and the scars were inconspicuous at follow-up.
Conclusion: The one-hole method is a novel option for high ligation of the internal spermatic vein by embryonic natural orifice transumbilical laparoscopy in the treatment of varicocele. It is recommendable for its advantages of simple procedure, less pain, few complications, quick recovery, mini-invasiveness and cosmetic acceptability.

Background: Sepsis is an infection-related systemic inflammation with high mortality rates. Activation of formyl peptide receptor 1 (FPR1) in immune cells can promote their chemotaxis and inflammatory response, which imbalances immune response during the process of sepsis. FPR1 blockade did diminish systemic inflammatory response during bacterial infection.

Bile acids (BAs) are essential signaling molecules that engage in host and gut microbial metabolism, playing a crucial role in maintaining organismal stability. Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) is a widely employed technique for metabolite analysis in biological samples due to its high sensitivity, excellent specificity, and low detection limits. This method has emerged as the mainstream approach for the detection and analysis of BAs.

Objective: Endometrial carcinomas with mismatch repair deficiency (MMRd) and no specific molecular profile (NSMP) are considered to have intermediate prognoses. However, potential prognostic differences between these molecular subgroups remain unclear due to the lack of standardized control for clinicopathologic factors. This study aims to evaluate outcomes of MMRd and NSMP endometrial carcinomas across guideline-based clinicopathologic risk groups.

Copper is ubiquitous as a structural material, and as a reagent in (bio)chemical transformations. A vast number of chemical reactions rely on the near-inevitable preference of copper for positive oxidation states to make useful compounds. Here we show this electronic paradigm can be subverted in a stable compound with a copper-magnesium bond, which conforms to the formal oxidation state of Cu(-I).

The copolymerization of ethylene with polar monomers presents a significant challenge. While palladium catalysts have shown promise, nickel catalysts are more economical but suffer from poor activity. Previous studies suggest that the isomerization step involved in the nickel-catalyzed polymerization may influence the catalyst activities.
