Aim: To study the potent efficacy of the immunomodulatory agent imiquimod when applied on dysplastic lesions of the oral mucosa.
Materials And Methods: Carcinogen (DMBA) was applied to the mucosa of the left buccal pouch of 26 male Wistar rats for 8 weeks, until dysplastic lesions were observed and histologically diagnosed. At the second phase of the experiment, 5% imiquimod cream was applied to these dysplastic lesions for 16 weeks. Biopsies were taken before and after treatment.
Results: The histological effect of imiquimod was the regression of mild dysplasia to hyperplasia for all the samples. In one case, a well-differentiated squamous cell carcinoma was converted to a papilloma-like squamous neoplasm with a benign morphology.
Conclusion: Our results indicate that imiquimod may be effective in treatment of precancerous lesions of the oral mucosa and thus inhibit the progress of carcinogenesis.

Exfoliative cytology has proven to be a valuable diagnostic tool in the early detection of malignant neoplasms. However, its application in the oral cavity has been met with skepticism and limited investigation due to the perception that clinical examination alone is sufficient for early diagnosis. Nonetheless, recent research efforts have focused on the utility of exfoliative cytology in oral cavity neoplasms, motivated by the high mortality rate associated with oral cancer.

Background: Novel colorectal cancer endoscopic surveillance techniques for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) have recently been developed.
Aims: Compare the efficacy of currently available techniques for dysplasia detection in colonic IBD.
Methods: We conducted a systematic literature search from inception to March 2024 for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) or prospective cohort studies enrolling adults with IBD and having surveillance colonoscopy for dysplasia screening.

This case report describes a 15-year-old male with multifocal osteochondromatous proliferation and paraneoplastic hematologic dyscrasia, linked to latent Epstein-Barr virus reactivation. Radiographic and advanced imaging revealed widespread skeletal lesions consistent with osteochondromatosis. Hematologic evaluation indicated pancytopenia with dysplastic megakaryocytes and marrow infiltration.

Vascular malformations (VMs) are dysplastic abnormalities of vascular channels, differing from vascular tumors by their slow growth. Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) arise between weeks 4-10 of intrauterine life, with a prevalence of 1 in 100,000 among Caucasians. Common in the head, neck, and hands, AVMs may be asymptomatic or cause symptoms like pain, deformity, and disability.
