The involvement of service-users, clinicians, and other health service end-users is recognised as an essential part of health and medical research. This collaborative approach can significantly contribute to methodological advancements including the development of research instruments and measures that ensure their suitability for research participants. The current paper details the co-design, development and implementation of the novel, digitised COGwheel (Co-designed Outcomes for Guests Evaluation Wheel).

The relentless surge in carbon emissions is exacting a devastating toll on human wellbeing, critical infrastructure, and natural ecosystems, leaving a stark and distressing legacy of destruction. Communities worldwide are reeling from the impacts of pervasive smog, record-breaking wildfires, and deadly heatwaves-manifestations of a climate crisis that grows more severe by the day. Once a vanguard of environmental policy, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) now struggles with exceeding emissions targets, eroding its credibility and influence.

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) and Electronic Muscle Stimulation (EMS) are non-invasive therapies widely used for pain relief and neuromuscular adaptation. However, the clinical research supporting the efficacy of TENS in chronic pain management is limited by significant methodological flaws, including small sample sizes and inconsistent reporting of stimulation parameters. TENS modulates pain perception through various techniques, targeting specific nerve fibers and pain pathways.

Cell therapies as treatments for neonatal conditions have attracted significant research and parent interest over the last two decades. Mesenchymal stromal cells, umbilical cord blood cells and neural stem cells translate from lab, to preclinical and into clinical trials, with contributions being made from all over the world. Effective and timely translation involves frequent reflection and consultation from research-adjacent fields (i.

Involving participants in the design of clinical trials should improve the overall success of a study. For this to occur, streamlined mechanisms are needed to connect the populations potentially impacted by a given study or health topic with research teams in order to inform trial design in a meaningful and timely manner. To address this need, we developed an innovative mechanism called the "ResearchMatch Expert Advice Tool" that quickly obtains volunteer perspectives from populations with specific health conditions or lived experiences using the national recruitment registry, ResearchMatch.
