Nine simplified vinca alkaloids and phomospin A hybrids, in which vindoline moiety has been replaced by a simpler scaffold, have been elaborated to evaluate their activity on the inhibition of tubulin polymerization. This article deals with the synthesis of various simplified vinca alkaloids, using a stereoselective coupling of catharantine with reactive aromatic compounds and methanol as well as their subsequent condensation with a large peptide chain mimicking those of phomopsin A. Biological evaluation and molecular modeling studies are also reported.

Introduction: Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has gained significant attention due to its superiority over conventional treatments. In the context of skin cancers and nonmalignant skin diseases, topical application of photosensitizer formulations onto affected skin, followed by illumination, offers distinct advantages. Topical PDT simplifies therapy by providing easy access to the skin, increasing drug concentration within the target area, and confining residual photosensitivity to the treated skin.

We have synthesized 22 C-1 functionalized--aryl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline derivatives showing biological activities towards cholinergic enzymes. Synthesis was performed using visible-light-promoted photo-redox chemistry, starting from a common intermediate, and the application of this synthetic methodology drastically simplified synthetic routes and purification of desired compounds. All synthesized derivates were divided into four groups based on the substituents in the C-1 position, and their inhibition potencies towards two cholinergic enzymes, acetyl- and butyrylcholinesterase were evaluated.

Production cross sections of the standard model Higgs boson decaying to a pair of W bosons are measured in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13. The analysis targets Higgs bosons produced via gluon fusion, vector boson fusion, and in association with a W or Z boson. Candidate events are required to have at least two charged leptons and moderate missing transverse momentum, targeting events with at least one leptonically decaying W boson originating from the Higgs boson.
