Background: Social prescribing link workers support patients to connect with community resources to improve their health and well-being. These roles are prominent in policy, but there is limited evidence on what support is provided by link workers and what factors influence implementation of link worker interventions.
Methods: A convergent, mixed methods process evaluation of an exploratory randomised trial of a one-month general practice-based link worker intervention targeting adults with multimorbidity in deprived areas.

This paper proposes a solution to the challenging task of autonomously landing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). An onboard computer vision module integrates the vision system with the ground control communication and video server connection. The vision platform performs feature extraction using the Speeded Up Robust Features (SURF), followed by fast Structured Forests edge detection and then smoothing with a Kalman filter for accurate runway sidelines prediction.

Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is still a major challenge after major orthopaedic surgery, including total knee replacement (TKR). The aim of this study was to estimate the risk of VTE with aspirin-only pharmacologic prophylaxis following primary TKR surgery versus direct oral anticoagulant (DOAC). The study included 476 patients who underwent primary TKR from 2016 to 2020.

The proposed approach utilizes commercially available multi-color mixing extruders and off-the-shelf polylactic acid (PLA) filaments, making this technique low-cost and broadly accessible. We systematically characterized optical properties, including both absorption and reduced scattering coefficients, at a wide range of mixing ratios of gray, white and translucent filaments and validated our hypothesis of a linear-mixing model between the filament mixing ratios and the resulting optical properties.
