Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is one of the most common chronic diseases worldwide, with no cure at present. Vitamin D (VD) is a fat-soluble vitamin, which has been recognized as one of the major influencing factors of T2DM. However, the specific relationship between T2DM and VD remains elusive.

Whether the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K are associated with development of graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) after allogeneic stem cell transplantation, is unclear. We assessed if the levels of these vitamins were associated with development of GvHD during the first year after transplantation using data from a two-armed randomized nutritional intervention trial. Changes in plasma levels during 1-year follow-up were analyzed using a linear mixed model for repeated measurements.

This study explores the relationship between Klotho, an anti-aging protein, and COVID-19 severity. Conducted at Tehran's Firouzgar Hospital, this case-control study involved 279 participants, assessing serum levels of Klotho, inflammatory markers (C-reactive protein (CRP), Interleukin 6 (IL-6)), and Vitamin D.

Purpose Of Review: This narrative review explores the role of Medical Nutritional Therapy (MNT) in managing Metabolic-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD), previously known as nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. It aims to examine the effectiveness of specific nutritional strategies in preventing and treating this obesity-linked liver disease.
Recent Findings: Emerging evidence underscores the benefits of the Mediterranean diet, low-carbohydrate diets, and intermittent fasting in reducing liver fat, improving insulin sensitivity, and mitigating inflammation.
