Eutrophication of lake and reservoir caused by cyanobacterial harmful algal blooms (cyanoHABs) become a global ecological problem because of massive destruction of ecosystems, which have attracted attentions widely. In addition to the production of cyanotoxins by certain bloom-forming species, there may also be direct or indirect interactions between cyanobacteria blooms and various pollutants in lakes or reservoirs. Based on bibliometrics, 19110 papers in Web of Science (WOS) and 2998 papers in the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) on eutrophication and cyanobacterial blooms in lakes and reservoirs were analyzed, which showed that research on this topic has been ongoing for nearly 80 years with a gradual increase in its popularity.

Crop rotation can affect crop productivity and soil characteristics; however, the impact of preceding crops on the yield and quality of foxtail millet and the relationship between these two factors have not been well characterised. To further investigate the effects of preceding crops on foxtail millet, this study cultivated maize, mung beans, soybeans, potatoes, and proso millet as the preceding crops and rotated them with Zhangzagu10 foxtail millet. A randomised complete block design was employed for the study, and soil and millet samples were collected after harvest.

Background: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is a growing health concern and the risk of its development is connected with the increasing prevalence of metabolic syndrome (MetS) which occurs as a result of some complex obesity-induced metabolic changes. It is a common chronic liver disease characterized by excessive fat accumulation in the liver, the tendency to progress to more severe forms, and a corresponding increase in morbidity and mortality. Thus, effectively addressing the rising burden of the disease requires a thorough understanding of its complex interrelationship with obesity and MetS.
