Purpose: To investigate the efficacy and safety of secondary surgical intervention of combined phototherapeutic keratectomy (PTK) with alcohol delamination and peripheral anterior stromal puncture (ASP) for refractory recurrent corneal erosion (RCE).
Methods: This retrospective comparative study defined refractory RCE as cases persisting for more than 6 months after primary surgical intervention. A total of 115 eyes from 115 patients with refractory RCE, treated either with (n = 92) or without (n = 23) the secondary surgical treatment combining PTK and ASP between January 2021 and January 2023, were included.

Aim: To evaluate the clinical efficacy and feasibility of superficial corneal opacities treated by excimer laser phototherapeutic keratectomy (PTK) combined with small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE)-derived corneal stromal lenticule transplantation.
Methods: A retrospective interventional case series of nine patients aged 12-59y with superficial corneal opacity caused by different pathologies who underwent standardized PTK combined with SMILE-derived corneal stromal lenticule transplantation was examined. Lenticule patches were fixed with fibrin glue.

To report a novel application within the USA of excimer ablation for the normalization of central corneal refractive irregularity, combined with higher fluence CXL in the effective management and visual rehabilitation of progressive keratoconus. 17 consecutive cases with progressive keratoconus were treated with corneal surface excimer laser ablation normalization using topography-guided (Contura) myopic ablation for customized corneal re-shaping with a 6 mm optical zone. The epithelial removal was accounted for by adding a -2.

Cancer immunotherapy remains a low immune response rate in clinic because of dominant immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) and lack of effective drug to specifically remodel the TME. In this work, we introduced a tumor-seeking human serum albumin (HSA) based delivery platform by covalently conjugating with a tumor-targeting near-infrared (NIR) photosensitizer (IR-DBI) and non-covalently loading of immune modulator Resiquimod (R848). HSA exhibited tumor-preferential accumulation after covalent conjugation with IR-DBI.

Phototherapy can offer a safe and non-invasive solution against infections, while promoting wound healing. Conventional phototherapeutic devices are bulky and limited to hospital use. To overcome these challenges, we developed a wearable, flexible red and blue LED (r&bLED) patch controlled by a mobile-connected system, enabling safe self-application at home.
