Anti-arrhytmic activity of cordarone was studied in 68 patients with circulatory failure (CF) and heart rhythm disorders with the aid of the 48-hour monitoring of the ECG. Cordarone was administered after the maintenance therapy with digoxin (the mean concentration of digoxin in the plasma 1.38 +/- 0.09 ng/ml) at an average dose of 300 mg/day. Cordarone suppressed supraventricular premature heart beat by 80.2%, ventricular premature heart beat (VPHB) by 76.4%, group VPHB by 82.9% and runnings of ventricular tachycardia by 86.6%. Antiarrhythmic activity of cordarone was more remarkable at the early stages of CF. The concentration of digoxin in the plasma did not exceed the mean therapeutic one. Therefore, cordarone possesses a high antiarrhythmic activity, with its efficacy being significantly higher in patients with moderately pronounced CF. At the same time cordarone influences to a less measure the quality of ventricular rhythm disorders in patients with severe CF and apparently does not avert the cases of sudden death in such patients.

Circadian rhythm disruption, commonly caused by factors such as jet lag and shift work, is increasingly recognized as a critical factor impairing wound healing. Although melatonin is known to regulate circadian rhythms and has potential in wound repair, its clinical application is limited by low bioavailability. To address these challenges, we developed an alginate-based dual-network hydrogel as a delivery system for melatonin, ensuring its stable and sustained release at the wound site.

Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), is a major concern due to its astonishing prevalence and high fatality rate, especially among elderly people. Patients suffering from COVID-19 may exhibit immunosuppression in the initial stage of infection, while a cytokine storm can occur when the disease progresses to a severe stage. This inopportune immune rhythm not only makes patients more susceptible to the virus but also leads to numerous complications resulting from the excessive production of inflammatory factors.

Anorexia nervosa (AN) represents an eating disorder, which features the highest rate of mortality among all psychiatric disorders. The disease prevalence is increasing steadily, and an effective cure is missing. The neurobiology of the disease is largely unknown, and only a few studies were designed to disclose specific brain areas, where altered neural transmission may occur.

Procrastination behavior has been reportedly associated with the evening preference. This study aimed to evaluate its difference between patients with circadian rhythm sleep-wake disorders with phase delay (CRSWDswPD) and healthy controls in terms of evening preference and comorbid psychiatric disorders. Thirty patients with CRSWDswPD and 29 healthy participants were included.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a highly prevalent neurodevelopmental disorder, affecting both children and adults, which often leads to significant difficulties with attention, impulsivity, and working memory. These challenges can impact various cognitive and perceptual domains, including music perception and performance. Despite these difficulties, individuals with ADHD frequently engage with music, and previous research has shown that music listening can serve as a means of increasing stimulation and self-regulation.
