Analysis of the cooperative work of district internists and cardiologists of the polyclinics with special reference to the management of patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) has demonstrated that if their activities are interrelated, the scope of diagnostic studies and the rate of drug treatment adequacy significantly increase. The rate of the positive dynamics of the CHD course is significantly higher in cases where the patients' group indicated is followed up not only by district internists but also by cardiologists. The established advantages of the interrelation between district internists and cardiologists of the polyclinics enable one to regard the joint dynamic follow-up of CHD patients as an important tool in raising the quality and efficacy of the polyclinic aid.
