There is an urgent need for improved energy storage devices to enable advances in markets ranging from small-scale applications (such as portable electronic devices) to large-scale energy storage for transportation and electric-grid energy. Next-generation batteries must be characterized by high energy density, high power density, fast charging capabilities, operation over a wide temperature range and safety. To achieve such ambitious performance metrics, creative solutions that synergistically combine state-of-the-art material systems with advanced architectures must be developed.

Reward cues have long been considered to enhance creative performance; however, little is known about whether rewards can affect creative problem solving by manipulating states of flexibility and persistence. This study sought to elucidate the differential impacts of real versus hypothetical rewards on the creative process utilizing the Chinese compound remote association task. Behavioral analysis revealed a significantly enhanced solution rate and response times in scenarios involving real rewards, in contrast to those observed with hypothetical rewards.

Descartes' systematic physics had little to do with his quantitative accounts of natural phenomena. The former was metaphysical and was concerned with uncovering the causes operating in nature, while the latter dealt with establishing mathematical relations between various natural quantities. I reconstruct a dominant interpretation in recent literature which argues that the two practices are autonomous, and that quantitative problem-solving is normatively subordinated to metaphysical physics.

Background: Phage therapy, a treatment utilizing bacteriophages to combat bacterial infections, is gaining attention as a promising alternative to antibiotics, particularly for managing antibiotic-resistant bacteria. This study aims to provide a comprehensive review of phage therapy by examining its safety, efficacy, influencing factors, future prospects, and regulatory considerations. The study also seeks to identify strategies for optimizing its application and to propose a systematic framework for its clinical implementation.

Methods: A total of 128 patients undergoing laparoscopic bariatric surgery were randomly divided into the control group (group C), the PEEP group (group P), the BRS group (group B), and the BRS combined with the PEEP group (group BP). The results of arterial blood gas analysis, including pH value, base excess (BE), concentrations of electrolyte, and lactate (Lac) were documented before intravenous infusion (T0) and 5 min after the surgery (T1).
