Background: Food and Drug Administration-mandated postmarket studies for transcatheter aortic valve replacement in low-risk populations plan to use passively collected registry data linked to claims for long-term follow-up out to 10 years. Therefore, it is critically important to understand the validity of these claims-based end points. We sought to evaluate the ability of administrative claims with () codes to identify trial-adjudicated end points and reproduce treatment comparisons of aortic valve replacement in the Evolut Low Risk Trial.

Methods And Results: A total of 92 consecutive patients with symptomatic obstructive HCM with peak left ventricular outflow tract gradients of ≥30 mm Hg at rest or with provocation who were maintained on disopyramide for ≥5 years at 2 dedicated HCM centers were included: 92 patients; mean age, 62.5 years; 54% women; treated with disopyramide for median 7.
Post-operative new-onset atrial fibrillation (POAF) is a possible complication following cardiac surgery. Digoxin is a drug with positive inotropic and negative chronotropic effects and is listed among antiarrhythmic drugs that can be prescribed in dogs with atrial fibrillation. This report aims at describing the use of digoxin in two dogs with persistent POAF after mitral valve repair.

Prosthetic valve endocarditis (PVE) is the medical term used to describe a focus of infection involving a valvular substitute within the heart. It is a significant concern in the field of cardiology, and the epidemiology of PVE has seen notable developments over the last five decades. The disease currently affects an older demographic and is becoming increasingly prevalent in patients with transcatheter-implanted valves.

Cardiovascular diseases resulting from myocardial infarction (MI) remain a leading cause of death worldwide, imposing a substantial burden on global health systems. Current MI treatments, primarily pharmacological and surgical, do not regenerate lost myocardium, leaving patients at high risk for heart failure. Engineered heart tissue (EHT) offers a promising solution for MI and related cardiac conditions by replenishing myocardial loss.
