Objective: To further evaluate the relationship between thyroid antibodies and preterm births.
Methods: This is a prospective study of pregnancy outcome and demographic data combined with retrospective measurement of thyroperoxidase and thyroglobulin antibodies. Sera were obtained at 11-13 and 15-18 weeks of gestation from 10,062 women with singleton viable pregnancies (a subset from the First- and Second-Trimester Risk of Aneuploidy [FaSTER] trial).
Results: Women with elevated levels of thyroperoxidase, thyroglobulin antibodies, or both in the first trimester have a higher rate of preterm delivery before 37 weeks of gestation than antibody-negative women (7.5% compared with 6.4%, odds ratio [OR] 1.18; 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.95-1.46). This is also the case for very preterm delivery before 32 weeks of gestation (1.2% compared with 0.7%, OR 1.70; 95% CI 0.98-2.94). Preterm premature rupture of membranes is also increased (2.0% compared with 1.2%, OR 1.67; 95% CI 1.05-2.44). These associations are less strong for second-trimester antibody measurements.
Conclusion: The present data do not confirm strong associations between thyroid antibody elevations and preterm birth found in three of five previously published reports. Preterm premature rupture of membranes appears to contribute to the thyroid antibody-associated early deliveries, possibly as a result of inflammation.

Thyrotropin receptor (TSHR) and insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF-1R) have been shown to crosstalk in primary cultures of human thyrocytes (hThyros) and Graves' orbital fibroblasts. The phenomenon of TSHR/IGF-1R crosstalk has been largely studied in the pathogenesis of thyroid eye disease (TED) in human orbital fibroblasts. Here, we investigated the effects of inhibiting the IGF-1R-mediated contribution to crosstalk by linsitinib (Lins), a small-molecule IGF-1R kinase inhibitor, on TSH-induced regulation of thyroperoxidase (TPO) and thyroglobulin (TG) mRNAs and proteins in hThyros and on TPO and TG mRNAs and free thyroxine (fT4) levels in mice.

Objective: This study aims to explore the relationship between thyroid peroxidase antibody (TPOAb) and thyroglobulin antibody (TgAb) levels and metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), providing a theoretical basis for MAFLD prevention and treatment.
Methods: From June 2020 to May 2023, 534 T2DM patients were selected from the Endocrinology Department of Xiangyang Hospital affiliated with Wuhan University of Science and Technology. After applying exclusion criteria, 432 subjects were included.
To investigate the effect of Buzhong Yiqi Decoction on regulatory T cells(Treg) in experimental rats with autoimmune thyroiditis(EAT) through the transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β)/Smad signaling pathway. Female SD rats were immunized with iodine-rich drinking water combined with Freund's adjuvant and porcine thyroglobulin(pTG) to establish the EAT model of rats, and the levels of serum thyroperoxidase antibody(TPOAb) and thyroglobulin antibody(TGAb) were detected. Pathological sections by hematoxylin-eosin(HE) staining were observed.

Objectives: We investigated the prevalence of anti-thyroid autoantibodies and thyroid dysfunction, and their association with clinical and laboratory features in Korean patients with primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS) without overt thyroid illnesses.
Methods: We consequently included 196 pSS patients (190 women) and cross-sectionally collected clinical and laboratory data including the EULAR Sjögren's Syndrome Disease Activity Index (ESSDAI) and Patient Reported Index (ESSPRI). The fatigue-dominant group was defined as those in the highest quartile of the fraction of fatigue, calculated as the ESSPRI fatigue score divided by the total ESSPRI score.
