Introduction: The concentrations of trace metals, ionic species, and carbonaceous components in PM(10) (particulate matter with aerodynamic diameters smaller than 10 µm) were measured from samples collected near an industrial complex, primarily composed of cement plants, in southeastern Spain, from September 2005 to August 2006.
Materials And Methods: Positive matrix factorization and conditional probability function were applied to this data set to identify different types of sources.
Results: Six significant sources were identified: crustal matter, traffic, aged sea salt, industrial emissions, secondary aerosol, and sea salt. The difficulty of separating anthropogenic sources from those of natural origin is highlighted in this study; in particular, the crustal source can be connected with both natural (African outbreaks, wind resuspension) and man-made emissions, like fugitive emissions in an industrial environment.

Objective: To describe the epidemiology, characteristics, and factors associated with the evolution and survival in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in a region of southeastern Spain.
Methods: An observational study was carried out in people with a diagnosis of ALS in the period 2008-2021 who were registered in the Information System of Rare Diseases of the Region of Murcia (SIER). We calculated crude and standardized incidence rate (SIR) using European Standard Population of 2013 and point prevalence.

The study targeted to compare the nutritional profile of two varieties of açaí, the white and purple, found in different mesoregions of Pará, Brazil. The research focused on analyzing levels of total phenolics, total anthocyanins, antioxidant capacity, and mineral composition in these two varieties. The study sought to identify significant differences between the two varieties in terms of nutritional composition and antioxidant potential, providing valuable information into the specific nutritional and functional properties of each type of açaí studied.

Adherence to psychopharmacological treatment essentially involves a process of meaning-making. The objective of this study was to explore the experience of people undergoing chronic psychiatric treatment from the patients' perspective. In 2018, using the photovoice methodology, four sessions were conducted with the participation of 11 individuals from a community school in a socially marginalized neighborhood of a southeastern Spanish city, some of whom were also users of a social rehabilitation and integration center and a day center.
