Clinical proteomics is a powerful tool that can be used to identify proteins that are differentially expressed in disease states, leading to greater understanding of the molecular and cellular events that contribute to disease. The aim of this study was to identify protein changes in the sera from Chinese Parkinson's disease (PD) patients, with the goal of finding biomarkers for PD diagnosis, and to elucidate the events occurring at the onset of PD. Using differential display to identify proteins with altered expression in PD patients, we obtained 15 protein spots corresponding to 13 different gene products that were likely to be involved in PD. Two-dimensional gel electrophoresis and mass spectrometry were used to identify differentially expressed proteins, 7 of which have never previously been associated with PD patients. They are likely to be involved in antioxidation, lipid metabolism, intracellular transport, cell proliferation and immunoregulation. The altered levels of these proteins may be related to the pathophysiological mechanisms of PD. As a result, some of these proteins could be considered as candidate biomarkers.

The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of supplementary feeding with Chinese herbal mixtures on perinatal sows, focusing on their reproductive performance, immunity and breast milk quality. Sixty healthy pregnant sows (Large white, 4 parities) were randomly allocated into five treatment groups ( = 12 per group): the control group received a basal diet, the TRT1 group received a basal diet supplemented with 2 kg/t Bazhen powder (BZP), while the TRT2, TRT3, and TRT4 groups received a basal diet supplemented with 1 kg/t, 2 kg/t, and 3 kg/t Qi-Zhu-Gui-Shao soothing liver and replenishing blood powder (QZGSP), respectively. The trial lasted for a duration of 5 weeks, commencing from day 100 of gestation and concluding on day 21 postpartum.

Objective: The objective of this research is to examine the association between neutrophil percentage-to-albumin ratio (NPAR) and stroke, providing a reference for the prevention and prognosis of clinical stroke.
Method: The study included 56,566 participants from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) to explore the association between NPAR and stroke using logistic regression and restricted cubic splines. Upon identifying the nonlinear relationship, inflection points were calculated using recursive algorithms and two-stage linear regression models.

To analyze the correlation of exon rs1126671 and exon rs971074 polymorphisms with risky drinking behaviors and alcoholic liver disease. The patients with alcoholic liver disease diagnosed in the Gastroenterology Department of the People's Hospital of Hechi from November 2021 to June 2022, including 52 cases of alcoholic liver disease with positive risky drinking behaviors, 103 cases of non-alcoholic liver disease with positive risky drinking behaviors of the same gender and age, and 105 healthy subjects with no risky drinking behaviors as control groups were retrospectively analyzed. The serum total protein and albumin are detected by immunoturbidimetry and globulin is calculated by the difference method; the serum total bilirubin and direct bilirubin are detected by the nitrite oxidation method and indirect bilirubin is calculated by the difference method; alkaline phosphatase, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase and γ-glutamyl transferase are detected by the substrate method.

To investigate the level of serum-neutralizing antibodies against Coxsackievirus A6 (CVA6) in a healthy population in Tianjin City from 2014 to 2020. From March 2014 to March 2020, 5 492 healthy volunteers were recruited in Tianjin City. The demographic information, personal hygiene habits, living environment hygiene, contact history with hand, foot and mouth disease cases within 6 months before the survey, history of upper respiratory tract infection, and medical history of the subjects were investigated using a self-designed questionnaire.

To investigate the levels of β-amyloid 1-42 (Aβ1-42) and total bilirubin (TBIL) in serum of patients with Alzheimer 's disease (AD) and the relationship between them. A case-control study was conducted to select 73 patients with AD who were hospitalized in Beijing Huilongguan Hospital from November 2023 to February 2024 as AD group, and 70 healthy controls (HC) were selected as HC group. The basic information of all subjects and the clinical information of AD patients were collected, and the levels of Aβ1-42 and TBIL were detected and compared between the two groups.
