Zoon's balanitis or balanitis plasmacellularis circumscripta is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the genital mucosa that can affect both males and females (Zoon's vulvitis). It is not a sexually transmitted disease but can still cause anxiety to the patients because of its chronic nature. Hence, proper diagnosis and early management are necessary.

Objective: This systematic review aimed to present the available literature on plasma cell vulvitis (PCV), a relatively uncommon form of inflammatory vulvovaginal dermatitis.
Materials And Methods: A literature search was performed in PubMed, Science Direct, and Google Scholar using the following key words: "plasma cell vulvitis," "Zoon vulvitis," and "vulvitis circumscripta plasmacellularis." Specific variables were assessed in each article, including patient age, menopausal status, comorbidities, presenting symptoms, symptom duration, histological description, treatment, and treatment response.

Zoon vulvitis or vulvitis chronica plasmacellularis is a rare, chronic benign inflammation of the vulvar mucosa, diagnosed histologically, with variable therapeutic responses. It is important to be diagnosed because it mimics the presentation of other genital conditions, such as lichen planus and squamous cell carcinoma, which require specific treatment. We report a case of a female patient with three asymptomatic shallow ulcers on the labia minora.
