Reconstruction of complex proximal and mid-forearm wounds can be challenging. Free tissue transfer might not be feasible in certain patients or at institutions lacking microsurgical expertise and equipment. Traditional pedicled flaps are either insufficient in length to reach more proximal forearm defects or are used sparingly due to donor site complications and extremity stiffness. We present a novel technique to reconstruct forearm defects using the oblique pedicled paraumbilical perforator (PUP) based flap. This flap is simple to harvest, has low donor site morbidity, and allows elbow and shoulder range of motion during the interval between flap transfer and pedicle division.

Objective: In the current study, to demonstrate the advantages of oblique lateral interbody fusion (OLIF), we focused on the therapeutics for lumbar spinal tuberculosis with the comparison of three treatments, including anterior approach, posterior approach, and OLIF combined with posterior percutaneous pedicle screw fixation.
Methods: This study included patients with lumbar spinal tuberculosis from July 2015 to June 2018. We divided these patients into three groups: 35 patients underwent an anterior-only approach (Group A), 36 patients underwent a posterior-only approach (Group B), and 31 patients underwent OLIF combined with posterior percutaneous pedicle screw fixation (Group C).

Methods: The clinical data of 12 patients with fusion device displacement after OLIF for lumbar lesions in 4 medical centers from October 2014 to December 2018 were retrospectively analyzed, including 4 males and 8 females, aged from 53 to 81 years old;2 patients with lumbar disc degeneration, 4 patients with lumbar spinal stenosis, 3 patients with lumbar degenerative spondylolisthesis and 3 patients with lumbar degenerative kyphosis;preoperative dual-energy X-ray bone mineral density (BMD) was detected in 1 patient with T-value > -1 SD, 5 patients with T-value >-1~-2.5 SD, and 6 patients with T-value <-2.
