Objective: To evaluate the performance of All Bond SE used in a one- or two-step protocol in a 24-month randomized clinical study.
Methods: Thirty-three patients with two similarly sized non-carious cervical lesions participated in this study. A total of 66 restorations were placed, half using the one-step All Bond SE protocol (SE-1) and the other half using the two-step All Bond SE protocol (SE-2). The restorations were evaluated at baseline and after 6, 12 and 24 months following the modified USPHS criteria and analyzed by the McNemar's test and Fisher's exact test (alpha = 0.05).
Results: After 24 months, six SE-1 and four SE-2 restorations were rated as Bravo in marginal discoloration The retention rates for SE-1 and SE-2 were 84.8% and 90.9%, respectively, after 24 months. Compared to baseline, the retention rate for SE-1 was statistically lower.
Conclusions: All Bond SE used in the one- or two-step protocol resulted in high retention rates after 24 months.

A variety of dearomatized compounds have been prepared in moderate to excellent yields from planar scaffolds using trichloroisocyanuric acid (TCCA) as an atom-economical chlorinating agent. The method tolerates a broad range of functionalities and can take place in several green and/or sustainable solvents. Twenty-one examples of 1,1-dichlorinated products of dearomatized 2-naphthols and analogous heteroarenes (quinolinols, isoquinolinols, and quinazolinol) are reported along with five examples of monochlorinated dearomatized products.

The chemical recycling of polystyrene (PS) waste to value-added aromatic compounds is an attractive but formidable challenge due to the inertness of the C-C bonds in the polymer backbone. Here we develop a light-driven, copper-catalyzed protocol to achieve aerobic oxidation of various alkylarenes or real-life PS waste to benzoic acid and oxidized styrene oligomers. The resulting oligomers can be further transformed under heating conditions, thus achieving benzoic acid in up to 65% total yield through an integrated one-pot two-step procedure.

Aims: The aim of this study was to evaluate the radiological outcome of patients with large bone defects in the femur and tibia who were treated according to the guidelines of the diamond concept in our department (Centre for Orthopedics, Trauma Surgery, and Paraplegiology).
Methods: The following retrospective, descriptive analysis consists of patients treated in our department between January 2010 and December 2021. In total, 628 patients were registered, of whom 108 presented with a large-sized defect (≥ 5 cm).

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is one of the most common brain malignancies characterized by an inflammatory microenvironment and metabolic reprogramming. This study aims to investigate the causal relationship between inflammatory factors (IFs) and GBM, as well as the potential mediating effects of specific plasma metabolites. We used a bidirectional two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) approach to investigate the causal associations between 91 IFs and GBM.

One of the actions taken to mitigate the climate change is research, development and demonstration (RD&D) investments in renewable energy (RE) technology. In addition to domestic RD&D spending, the import of foreign technologies, as a main channel of technology transfer, is another option to obtain higher share of renewable energies in order to achieve climate objectives. In this study, a panel dataset of 28 OECD member countries from 2011 to 2020 is analyzed, using the OLS, fixed-effects, and two-step system GMM methods, to assess the impacts of public spending on renewable energy RD&D (RERD) and the import of renewable energy technologies on the energy-related CO2 emissions.
