Imaging reports are official medicolegal documents, detailing the conduct and interpretation of imaging studies in patient care. They serve as the primary means of communication for radiologists and significantly influence clinical decisions. This consensus statement, produced by a panel of the American College of Veterinary Radiology and European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging board-certified veterinary radiologists through a modified Delphi method, addressed three key competency domains: basic patient care documentation, crafting meaningful reports, and ethical practice within legal boundaries.

A delayed diagnosis of endometriosis can significantly impact a patient's quality of life. To facilitate an earlier diagnosis, we implemented a modified pelvic US protocol that included use of the dynamic sliding sign (SS) maneuver to screen at-risk populations. The aim of this initiative was to improve both SS maneuver performance and SS reporting consistency to 80% and determine the number of new endometriosis cases identified after US.

Purpose: Large language models (LLMs) promise to streamline radiology reporting. With the release of OpenAI's GPT-4o (Generative Pre-trained Transformers-4 omni), which processes not only text but also speech, multimodal LLMs might now also be used as medical speech recognition software for radiology reporting in multiple languages. This proof-of-concept study investigates the feasibility of using GPT-4o for automated voice-to-text transcription of radiology reports in English and German.
