AI Article Synopsis

  • The study aimed to compare the levels of imperatorin and the HPLC fingerprint of Baizhi from various regions across 7 provinces in China.
  • Researchers collected medicinal materials and seeds from 15 habitats and cultivated them in Suining, Sichuan, to analyze differences.
  • Findings showed that both imperatorin content and HPLC fingerprints were notably influenced by the growing environment and cultivation methods.

Article Abstract

Objective: To compare the content of imperatorin and HPLC fingerprint of Baizhi collected from different areas.

Methods: The medicinal materials and seeds of Baizhi from 15 main habitats of 7 provinces and cities were collected, and the seeds were planted in the germplasm resource garden of Suining, Sichuan. The content of imperatorin and HPLC fingerprint were compared using the samples collected from different areas and germplasm resource garden collected and dried at the most suitable harvest date.

Results: The differences on the content of imperatorin and HPLC fingerprint were obvious. The content of imperatorin significantly increased and the HPLC fingerprint were trending to coincide when the herbs were planted in the same place.

Conclusion: The environmental factors and the cultivation technique had great influences on the quality of Baizhi.

Department of Dermatology, the Second Affiliated Hospital, The Domestic First-class Discipline Construction Project of Chinese Medicine of Hunan, University of Chinese Medicine, Changsha, 410005, Hunan, China.

Purpose: Melanin's pivotal role in skin protection and its overproduction leading to hyperpigmentation disorders highlight the necessity of regulating melanogenesis, with autophagy identified as a key degradation pathway. Imperatorin, a compound from Angelica dahurica, has been revealed to reduce melanin in epidermal keratinocytes, with the specific effects and mechanisms unknown. The purpose of this study was to investigate the mechanism by which imperatorin, reduces melanin production in HaCaT cells, with a focus on its potential role in promoting autophagy and regulating the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway.

Background: Cnidii Fructus (CF) is a herbal medicine with pharmacological activities such as antitumor, antiviral, antiallergic, antipruritic effects, and so on.

Objective: In this study, an ultra-high performance liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC- MS/MS) method was prepared and verified to measure the concentrations of seven analytes (bergapten, xanthotoxol, xanthotoxin, imperatorin, osthole, isopimpinellin, isoimperatorin) in HepG2 cells.

Methods: The separation of seven analytes was performed on an ACQUITY UPLC® BEH C18 column (2.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the use of near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy combined with artificial intelligence (AI) for improving pharmaceutical quality inspection, focusing on Angelica dahurica formula granules.
  • It compares two modeling techniques: partial least squares regression (PLSR) and back propagation artificial neural networks (BP-ANN), finding BP-ANN to be superior in predicting the contents of six key components.
  • Results indicate that utilizing a micro-NIR spectrometer with AI can facilitate quick and accurate analysis, offering valuable insights for the production and quality control of traditional Chinese medicine.
