Novel 3-aryl-4(3H)-quinazolinone-2-carboxaldehydes, their corresponding Schiff's base and thiosemicarbazone derivatives were synthesized from the starting 5-iodo anthranilic acid. Copper(II), zinc(II) complexes of some thiosemicarbazone derivatives were also synthesized and characterized. Screening for some selected compounds was carried out to probe their potential anticonvulsant, analgesic, cytotoxic as well as their antimicrobial activities.

Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) are a public health problem that affects around 12% of the global population. The treatment is based on analgesics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, corticosteroids, anticonvulsants, or arthrocentesis associated with hyaluronic acid-based viscosupplementation. However, the use of hyaluronic acid alone in viscosupplementation does not seem to be enough to regulate the intra-articular inflammatory process.

Patients on an ECMO circuit (pump, oxygenator, tubing) require numerous medications including sedatives, analgesics, cardioactive medications, and anticonvulsants. Currently, there are few dosing guidelines to optimize pharmacotherapy in this situation.

Purpose: To compare the analgesic efficacy, adverse effects, and long-term functional outcomes of perioperative naproxen alone versus naproxen with pregabalin for treating pain in ankle fractures.
Methods: This study included 70 patients who underwent operative fixation of rotatory ankle fractures. Group A received naproxen 500 mg only, and Group B received naproxen 500 mg with pregabalin 75 mg 2-hour before surgery and 12 hourly for 14 days thereafter.

Objectives: This study evaluated the impact of different doses of gabapentin and pregabalin on fracture healing in a rat femoral shaft model, with histological, radiological, and biomechanical assessments.
Materials And Methods: Seventy male Wistar albino rats were divided into five groups: control, low-dose gabapentin (GBP-L, 300 mg/day), high-dose gabapentin (GBP-H, 3600 mg/day), low-dose pregabalin (PRG-L, 150 mg/day), and high-dose pregabalin (PRG-H, 600 mg/day), based on human equivalent doses. Bilateral femoral fractures were induced; the right femurs were prepared for radiological examination using microtomography, followed by histological analysis, whereas the left femurs were allocated for biomechanical testing.

Introduction: Myocardial protection with cardioplegia is a crucial approach to mitigate myocardial damage during coronary bypass grafting surgery (CABG) with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB). The major component of the del Nido cardioplegia solution, Plasma-Lyte A, is difficult to obtain in Iran due to high cost. The objective of the current study was to study if the lactated Ringer's solution as the base for del Nido solution (LR DN) usage is a viable option as a substitute for Plasma-Lyte A in adult patients presenting for CABG surgery.
