The enhancement of photoluminescence (PL) stability of colloidal quantum dots (CQDs) is of great significance in light-emitting devices. In this work, the PL stability of CdTe CQDs under time storage, strong light irradiation, acid and alkali corrosion and low temperature freezing is analyzed, and the PL quenching mechanism in a harsh environment is analyzed. Furthermore, the PL stability is extremely improved by core-shell coating, film deposition and polymer encapsulation.

Quantum dots (QDs) are semiconductor nanocrystals with unique size-tunable emissions. To obtain a precise emission spectrum, monodispersity in size is imperative, which is achieved by controlling the reaction kinetics in a continuous flow of active microreactors. Further, a multivariate approach (dimensional analysis) is employed to impose stringent control on the reaction process resulting in monodispersed preparation of cadmium telluride (CdTe) quantum dots.

This research reports the preparation and examination of Cadmium Telluride (CdTe) Quantum Dots and doping CdTe QDs with Europium (Eu), Gadolinium (Gd), and Manganese (Mn) prepared in aqueous solution using TGA as a capping agent. Magnetic QDs (MQDs) are important agents for fluorescence (FL) /magnetic resonance (MR) dual-modal imaging due to their excellent optical and magnetic properties. Herein, the chemical bonds, structural, fluorescence, and magnetized properties of CdTe QDs and effect of Mn, Eu, and Gd ions doping on their properties were examined by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTM), Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL), Ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis), and vibrating sample magnetometer measurements (VSM).

A compact laboratory X-ray scattering platform that uniquely enables for high-performance ultra-small-angle X-ray scattering (USAXS), small- and wide-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS/WAXS), and total scattering (atomic pair distribution function analysis; PDF) experiments was developed. It covers Bragg spacings from sub-Angstroms to 1.7 μm, thus allowing the analysis of dimensions and complex structures in (nano-)materials on multiple length scales.

Monodispersed CdTe quantum dots (QDs) were prepared by using thioglycolic acid as surfactants in aqueous solution. The thioglycolic acid was chemically adsorbed on the surface of CdTe QDs that enables the QDs positively charged. In week acidic media, propafenone is positively charged, which can combine with the CdTe QDs to form larger ion-association complex via electrostatic attraction and hydrogen bond.
