Coronary pressure measurement has emerged as one of the most promising tool to assist interventional cardiologist to make accurate clinical decisions. Fractional flow reserve (FFR) is a simple way of reliably assessing the functional consequences of coronary atherosclerosis. The training in FFR is easy, and coronary pressure measurements can be obtained swiftly in the catheterization laboratory. This review outlines the practical set up of FFR in the catheterization laboratory and also discusses the potential pitfalls in the measurement of FFR.

Escalating SOx and NOx emissions from industrial plants necessitates customized scrubbing solutions to improve removal efficiency and tackle cost limitations in existing wet FGD units. This work investigates the real-time intensified removal pathways via an innovative two-stage countercurrent spray tower configuration strategically integrating NaOH (M) and NaOH/NaClO (M/M) to remove SOx and NOx emissions simultaneously from the industrial stack through a comprehensive parametric study of absorbents concentration, reaction temperature, gas flow rate, liquid to gas ratio (F/F), and absorbent showering head. Flue gas stream comprising SO bearing 4500 ppm, SO bearing 300 ppm, 70 ppm NO, and 50 ppm NO brought into contact with two scrubbing solutions as M, and a complex absorbent of M/M at varying respective ratios.

To investigate the characteristics of type 2 inflammation in patients with nocturnal asthma, and analyze the improvement of asthma symptoms after the use of inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) combined with different long-acting bronchodilators. Data of 231 asthma patients who first visited the Respiratory and Critical Care Medical Clinic of Nanfang Hospital of Southern Medical University from January 2020 to June 2023 and had positive bronchodilator tests (BDT), were retrospectively analyzed. These patients were divided into nocturnal asthma group and non-nocturnal asthma group based on the presence or absence of nocturnal symptoms.

Aims: To investigate the influence of index of microcirculatory resistance (IMR) on fractional flow reserve (FFR) and adenosine-induced hyperemia (ΔPd/Pa-FFR) in patients with chronic (CCS) or stabilized acute coronary syndromes (ACS), utilizing various IMR threshold values.
Methods: Data were extracted from two ongoing Italian registries involving patients with CCS or stabilized ACS who underwent a #FullPhysiology approach [Pd/Pa, FFR, IMR, coronary flow reserve (CFR)] by bolus thermodilution technique in the left anterior descending artery. Correlations between IMR and both FFR and ΔPd/Pa-FFR were analyzed both globally and within three IMR-defined groups: Group 1 (IMR <25), Group 2 (25 ≤ IMR <40), and Group 3 (IMR ≥40).

Background: Data on the predictive value of coronary computed tomography angiography-derived fractional flow reserve (CT-FFR) for long-term outcomes are limited.
Methods And Results: A retrospective pooled analysis of individual patient data was performed. Deep-learning-based CT-FFR was calculated.
