The distribution and level of yew constituents vary with species and tissues. In this study, a rapid and valid method incorporating ultra-fast liquid chromatography (UFLC) with MS and UV detection was developed for simultaneous determination of paclitaxel and its six semisynthesis precursors in needles and hair roots from various Taxus species. All target analytes could be identified by comparing their retention times as well as UV and MS spectra with authentic standards, while seven valuable taxanes in botanical samples can be rapidly determined by UFLC-DAD with excellent sensitivity. Analysis of more than one hundred yew samples from nine species showed significant variations in distribution and content of seven evaluated taxanes. Thus, different developmental schemes should be used for better utilization of various yew resources.

Background: Breast cancer (BC) poses a significant global health challenge, with chemotherapy resistance, especially to docetaxel, remaining a major obstacle in effective treatment. The molecular mechanisms underlying this resistance are critical for developing targeted therapeutic strategies.
Objective: This study aims to explore the role of dual-specificity tyrosine phosphorylation-regulated kinase 2 (DYRK2), a member of the DYRK family, in docetaxel resistance in breast cancer cells and investigate its impact on cellular responses, including drug sensitivity and migration.

Breast cancer represents a persistent global health challenge, with multidrug resistance (MDR) posing a significant obstacle to effective treatment. In this study, we investigate the potential of Ganoderma lucidum extract (GLE) in reversing MDR in breast cancer and delve into the underlying mechanisms. We establish a robust in vitro 3D model of breast cancer with acquired MDR induced by paclitaxel.

Lu-vipivotide tetraxetan prostate-specific membrane antigen (Lu-PSMA) therapy is under current scientific investigation and aims to become established in the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). However, real-world evidence in treatment comparison is scant. We relied on the FRAMCAP database and compared cabazitaxel versus Lu-PSMA therapy in mCRPC patients regarding progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS).

The chromatin-remodeling enzyme SMARCA5 plays a key role in DNA-templated events including transcription, DNA replication, and DNA repair. Loss of function of the SMARCA5 can cause neurodevelopmental disorder and Williams syndrome. However, the molecular mechanism underlying the regulation of SMARCA5 in prostate cancer remains largely elusive.
