Expanding EEG use calls for education during postgraduate training. We performed a study to see whether an innovative, interdisciplinary approach to EEG instruction for residents achieved curriculum goals of increasing knowledge of EEG use and interpretation. A 45-minute EEG educational module was developed by a clinical neurophysiologist and a neurocritical care anesthesiologist. After institutional review board approval and consent, neurologic surgery residents were evaluated using a 25-question assessment tool before and after the module to assess its impact. This tool included EEG tracing interpretations. Nine of 10 residents completed the study. Assessment tool scores increased from a mean of 12.00 +/- 1.87 before the educational module to 19.67 +/- 2.06 (P < 0.001) after the educational module. This innovative, collaborative approach for EEG instruction of residents using the expertise of a clinical neurophysiologist met the curriculum goals after a 45-minute educational module as measured by the study assessment tool.

Background: Disability-inclusive early childhood development and education (ECDE) plays a crucial role in ensuring that all children, including those with disabilities, reach their developmental potential. However, there is little data on the prevalence of disability in mainstream ECDE in most low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), or on early learning and developmental outcomes of children with disabilities in these classrooms.
Methods: Data were collected on 1756 children aged 3-9 years enrolling in ECDE at 18 schools in Homa Bay or Turkana Counties, Kenya, at the start of the 2021 and 2022 school years.

Thermoelectric (TE) performance in materials is often constrained by the strong coupling between carrier and phonon transport, necessitating trade-offs between electrical and thermal properties that limit improvements in the figure of merit (). Herein, a novel strategy is proposed to achieve simultaneous energy filtering and enhanced phonon scattering, effectively optimizing the TE properties of CoSb-based skutterudites. By introducing CuTe nanoprecipitates into the YbCoSb matrix, interfacial barriers are formed, which selectively filter low-energy charge carriers, significantly improving the Seebeck coefficient while maintaining high carrier mobility.
