Background: Cesarean scar defects can lead to long-term complications, such as cesarean scar disorders, cesarean scar pregnancy, and the risk of uterine scar dehiscence and rupture in subsequent pregnancy. However, the optimal closure technique to prevent the development of cesarean scar defects (CSD) remains unclear. Therefore, this study aimed to explore whether two-layer interrupted versus two-layer continuous sutures could prevent the formation of CSD.

Objective: Nonsyndromic multiple-suture synostosis (MSS) is one of the rarest types of craniosynostosis. While both endoscopic and open surgical approaches have demonstrated efficacy for MSS patients, a comprehensive comparison of perioperative outcomes between the two approaches has yet to be fully explored. The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to assess the available evidence among the two surgical approaches to better inform the management of complex craniosynostosis.

Anterior shoulder pain is a common complaint often caused by pathology of the long head of the biceps such as biceps tendinitis, partial biceps tears, biceps instability, and SLAP lesions. Surgical treatment of biceps pathology includes tenotomy versus tenodesis, with tenodesis being favored in young, active patients owing to less cramping pain and superior outcomes in terms of shoulder function and cosmesis. Various surgical techniques for tenodesis of the long head of the biceps exist, with varying indications.

Background: Mesh repair is recommended for umbilical hernias larger than 1 cm to reduce recurrence rates, yet current evidence remains limited for smaller umbilical hernias. Important questions concern optimal mesh positioning and wound complications/surgical-site occurrences. The aim of this study was to report the preliminary results of a trial investigating surgical-site occurrences in suture versus mesh repair for umbilical hernias less than or equal to 2 cm.
