Article Synopsis
  • Nickel pyrovanadate (NVO) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) are synthesized together using a solvothermal method, resulting in a crystalline NVO structure and amorphous rGO within the nanocomposite.
  • The formation of a hollow nanosphere shape for NVO is observed, which improves surface area and electrochemical stability due to the rGO incorporation.
  • The NVO@rGO 20 composite achieves a specific capacitance of 3807 F/g and retains about 70% of its capacitance after 10,000 cycles, making it a promising candidate for high-performance energy storage devices.

Article Synopsis
  • * This technique allows for high-resolution color printing with up to 50,000 dots per inch, where the color and saturation can be easily adjusted by altering the nanostructures.
  • * Additionally, the design of these nanostructures can encode optical information, which can be revealed through a special optical method, providing a way to combine advanced color printing with security features.

Coded ribosomal peptide synthesis could not have evolved unless its sequence and amino acid-specific aminoacylated tRNA substrates already existed. We therefore wondered whether aminoacylated RNAs might have served some primordial function prior to their role in protein synthesis. Here, we show that specific RNA sequences can be nonenzymatically aminoacylated and ligated to produce amino acid-bridged stem-loop RNAs.

Given the increasingly severe environmental problems caused by water pollution, the degradation of organic dyes can be effectively achieved through the utilization of photocatalysis. In this work, metal alkoxides and a combination of alcohol/hydrophobic solvents are employed to prepare BaTiO aerogels via a liquid-phase and template-free synthetic route. The preparation process of the aerogels solely entails facile agitation and supercritical drying, eliminating the need for additional heat treatment.

Sn-based materials with high capacity showcase great potential for next-generation lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). Yet, the large volume change and limited ion/electron transfer efficiency of Sn-based materials upon operation significantly compromises the battery performance. In this study, a unique 3D copper-nickel nanoporous column array current collector is rationally developed via a facile template-free galvanostatic electrodeposition method, followed by electrodepositing SnS active material onto it (denoted as 3D SnS@CNCA).
