This paper discussed the importance of gaze fixation for professional pilot activities. It describes new methods for evaluating mono- and binocular fixation. The results of examinations of pilots with mild emmetropia and ametropia demonstrate that qualitative parameters of gaze fixation are important adequate assessment of visual abilities. Fixation parameters measured using standard methods and authors' techniques have been compared. The paper presents the values of gaze fixation that require rehabilitation procedures.

Human performance in perceptual and visuomotor tasks is enhanced when stimulus motion follows the laws of gravitational physics, including acceleration consistent with Earth's gravity, g. Here we used a manual interception task in virtual reality to investigate the effects of trajectory shape and orientation on interception timing and accuracy. Participants punched to intercept a ball moving along one of four trajectories that varied in shape (parabola or tent) and orientation (upright or inverted).

Existing evaluation methods can be subjective, nonlinear, expensive, or reliant on anecdotal evidence making objective and consistent characterization and phenotyping of AD difficult. Multimodal analysis of patient behavior, rather than scoring of patient-generated output which can be skewed by compensation strategies, presents a unique opportunity to objectively quantify AD related changes.

Background: Macro laser light-sheet illuminating microscopy (Macro-LSFM), allied with tissue clearing technologies, herald a transformative paradigm in biomedical imaging, allowing 3D visualization of neuropathologic networks in a transparent intact mouse brain. Moreover, although traditional focus of AD diagnostic has been on CNS pathology, emerging research points to peripheral amyloid-beta deposition, specifically in the eyeball, as an avenue for investigation. Coupled with conventional [F]flutemetamol PET/CT imaging, this study leverages the innovative imaging capabilities of Macro-LSFM with hydrophilic tissue-clearing technique to elucidate the 3D spatial distribution of AD-associated neuroinflammation and neuropathologic change both in the brain and eyeball of old transgenic AD mouse.

Purpose: Assessing the quality of the visual field is important for the diagnosis of ophthalmic and neurological diseases and, consequently, for rehabilitation. Visual field defects (VFDs) are typically assessed using standard automated perimetry (SAP). However, SAP requires participants to understand instructions, maintain fixation and sustained attention, and provide overt responses.
