AI Article Synopsis

  • The review focuses on supramolecular compounds featuring organometallic half-sandwich complexes made from metals like Ir, Rh, and Ru, highlighting their diverse potential applications.
  • It emphasizes the self-assembly of molecular shapes (rectangles, prisms, cages) using a stepwise construction method with specific rigid bifunctional ligands.
  • The tutorial discusses in detail the synthetic techniques used to create these complexes and explores their structural and functional properties.

Article Abstract

Over the past decade, supramolecular compounds with organometallic Ir, Rh, Ru based half-sandwich complexes have received considerable attention as materials with a variety of potential applications. The major emphasis of this tutorial review lies on the self-assembly of such organometallic half-sandwich molecular rectangles, prisms and cages with half-sandwich corners and two different rigid bifunctional ligands using an approach of stepwise construction. Synthetic methods and the structural and functional properties of the target complexes are discussed in detail.

Department of Rheumatology, The First People's Hospital of Yunnan Province, The Affiliated Hospital of Kunming University of Science and Technology, Yunnan Province Clinical Research Center for Hematologic Disease, Kunming, Yunnan, China.

Objectives: To explore the risk factors for thrombi occurring in patients with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) and establish a risk prediction model to better predict the risk of thrombosis in patients with ITP.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 350 ITP patients who had been hospitalized in the First People's Hospital of Yunnan Province between January 2024 and June 2024. For all patients, we recorded demographic characteristics and clinical data, analyzed the risk factors for thrombosis in ITP patients and then developed a risk prediction model.

Introduction: In the context of climate variability, rapid and accurate estimation of winter wheat yield is essential for agricultural policymaking and food security. With advancements in remote sensing technology and deep learning, methods utilizing remotely sensed data are increasingly being employed for large-scale crop growth monitoring and yield estimation.

Methods: Solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence (SIF) is a new remote sensing metric that is closely linked to crop photosynthesis and has been applied to crop growth and drought monitoring.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the long-term effects of hormone therapies on the body composition, adipokines and metabolic parameters of adult men with congenital hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (CHH).

Methods: Sixty-six patients with CHH and 21 healthy controls were recruited. Patients were divided into untreated (n = 33) and treated (n = 33) groups based on hormone therapy history.

The tumor virus A receptor (TVA), a member of the low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) family, serves as an entry receptor for Avian Leukosis Virus (ALV) subgroups A and K, as well as a receptor for vitamin B bound to transcobalamin. Naturally occurring genetic variants in the TVA gene determine susceptibility or resistance to ALV-A and -K, but the effects of these mutated TVA on vitamin B uptake have not been investigated systemically. We found four TVA variants comprising the wild type (TVA), a single nucleotide polymorphism variant (TVA), and two partial deletions in the splicing branch point region (TVA).

Rain cracking compromises quality and quantity of sweet cherries worldwide. Cracking susceptibility differs among genotypes. The objective was to (1) phenotype the progeny of a cross between a tolerant and a susceptible sweet cherry cultivar for cuticle mass per unit area, strain release on cuticle isolation, cuticular microcracking and calcium/dry mass ratio and (2) relate these characteristics to cracking susceptibilities evaluated in laboratory immersion assays and published multiyear field observations.
