Rationale: Nocardia is a conditionally pathogenic bacterium found in the natural environment and is an aerobic bacterium, which causes severe pneumonia relatively rarely. Due to its rarity and nonspecific clinical presentation, patient survival is often compromised due to misdiagnosis.
