Ryanodine receptors (RyRs) regulate contractility in resistance-size cerebral artery smooth muscle, yet their molecular identity, subcellular location, and phenotype in this tissue remain unknown. Following rat resistance-size cerebral artery myocyte sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) purification and incorporation into POPE-POPS-POPC (5:3:2; wt/wt) bilayers, unitary conductances of 110 +/- 8, 334 +/- 15, and 441 +/- 27 pS in symmetric 300 mM Cs(+) were usually detected. The most frequent (34/40 bilayers) conductance (334 pS) decreased to

Background: Intracranial aneurysms (IAs) are pathological dilations occurring at major branch points of cerebral arteries, which can lead to aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) upon rupture. Recent studies have identified developmental endothelial locus-1 (DEL1) as closely associated with IA, though its role remains not fully understood. This study aimed to investigate serum DEL1 level differences in IA patients and explore its function in vascular endothelial cells.

Background: Cerebral hyperperfusion syndrome (CHS) is a rare but serious complication after carotid artery revascularization. This study aims to determine the impact of carotid artery stenting (CAS) modality on the incidence, severity and overall outcomes of CHS after carotid revascularization.
Methods: Data from patients who underwent CAS with either distal embolic protection (CAS+DEP) or transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR) were obtained from the Vascular Quality Initiative (VQI) database 2016-2023.

Ischemic stroke is a very common brain disorder. This study aims to assess the neuroprotective effects of piceatannol (PCT) in preventing neuronal injury resulting from cerebral ischemia and reperfusion (I/R) in mice. Additionally, we investigated the underlying mechanisms through which PCT inhibits neuronal ferroptosis by modulating the USP14/GPX4 signaling axis.

In recent years, metabolite identification of chemical constituents of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has been extensively studied. However, due to the intricacy of metabolic processes and the low concentration of metabolites, identifying metabolites of TCM in vivo is still a tough work. Meanwhile, credibility of metabolite identification through mass spectrum technology has been called into question by reason of the lack of metabolite standards.
