We have developed a microfluidic method to construct an array on a circular disk for staining assays. In this method, convenient centrifugal liquid pumping has been achieved within the spiral microchannels by disk rotation or spinning. Moreover, the liquids flowing in spiral channels effectively interact with the along-channel intercepted cell trapping holes. Live cells were encapsulated in wet low-melting point agarose along radial strips on the disk. When embedded in agarose, the cells remained viable to interact with, and respond to, test reagents. This method illustrates the potential use of the circular microfluidic chip to construct the cell array, intended for multi-cell multi-reagent tests.

Titanium (Ti)-based materials are favored for hard tissue applications, yet their bioinertness limits their success. This study hypothesizes that functionalizing Ti materials with chitosan nano/microspheres and calcitriol (VD) will enhance their bioactivity by improving cellular activities and mineralization. To test this, chitosan particles were applied uniformly onto Ti surfaces using electrophoretic deposition (EPD) at 20 V for 3 minutes.

Upon exposure to salt stress, calcium signaling in plants activates various stress-responsive genes and proteins along with enhancement in antioxidant defense to eventually regulate the cellular homeostasis for reducing cytosolic sodium levels. The coordination among the calcium signaling molecules and transporters plays a crucial role in salinity tolerance. In the present study, twenty-one diverse indigenous rice genotypes were evaluated for salt tolerance during the early seedling stage, and out of that nine genotypes were further selected for physio-biochemical study.

Mitochondrial transplantation (MTx) offers a promising therapeutic approach to mitigate mitochondrial dysfunction in conditions such as ischemia-reperfusion (IR) injury. The quality and viability of donor mitochondria are critical to MTx success, necessitating the optimization of isolation protocols. This study aimed to assess a rapid mitochondrial isolation method, examine the relationship between mitochondrial size and membrane potential, and evaluate the potential benefits of Poloxamer 188 (P-188) in improving mitochondrial quality during the isolation process.

Rationale And Objectives: This study aims to develop a radiopathomics model based on preoperative ultrasound and fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) images to enable accurate, non-invasive preoperative risk stratification for patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). The model seeks to enhance clinical decision-making by optimizing preoperative treatment strategies.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on data from PTC patients who underwent thyroidectomy between October 2022 and May 2024 across six centers.

In current alloplastic total temporomandibular joint replacements (TMJRs) typically the lateral pterygoid muscle (LPM) insertion is sacrificed, affecting joint function. This study assesses a novel additively manufactured TMJR (CADskills BV, Gent, Belgium) designed to enable LPM reinsertion through a scaffold feature on the implant. Thirteen TMJRs were implanted in Swifter crossbreed sheep, with follow-up CT scans after 288 days to evaluate LPM reintegration.
