Introduction: Understanding consent is essential to combat sexual violence, a deeply rooted social problem. Amidst its complexities, the scientific literature has emphasized the shortcomings of only considering the speech act-whether the victim-survivor said "yes" or not. Instead, sociological research underscores the need to analyze the whole communicative act where different elements lead to either a power relationship where there is no consent or a dialogic relationship where freedom is granted.

Coercion in psychiatric wards may improve the safety of patients and surroundings but influences compliance and satisfaction with treatment. As global temperatures rise, heat-related chronic health disorders are predicted to become more prevalent. We tested whether a single exposure to acute heat illness, using a preclinical mouse model of exertional heat stroke (EHS), can induce late-emerging health disorders that progress into chronic disease. Following EHS, mice were followed for 3 months; after two weeks of recovery, half were placed on a Western diet to determine if previous EHS exposure amplifies the negative consequences of an atherogenic diet.

Introduction: Domestic violence and abuse (DVA) are prevalent among persons with severe mental illness (SMI), being involved as victim, perpetrator, or both.
Aims: To assess rates of DVA victimization and perpetration in patients with SMI. We also aimed to assess whether DVA victimization was associated with DVA perpetration, and whether this was mediated by dispositional anger in patients with SMI.
