Background: Myelomeningocele and sagittal craniosynostosis are 2 neurosurgical pathologies with complications such as increased intracranial pressure (ICP) and hydrocephalus. While the 2 defects commonly occur independently, their simultaneous occurrence is exceptionally rare.
Observations: The authors report the case of a newborn male diagnosed with a simultaneous myelomeningocele and sagittal craniosynostosis.

Insertion of inflatable penile prosthesis (IPP) is generally regarded as a safe procedure, with low rates of complications. However, when complications do arise, they can pose significant challenges to both patients and surgeons. Patient optimization and adherence to specific intraoperative protocols are crucial in mitigating the risk of surgical complications.

Penetrating thoracic injuries, especially those affecting cardiac structures, are rare but can be life-threatening, requiring urgent medical care. Right atrium injuries pose significant risks, including rapid blood loss, cardiac tamponade, hemodynamic instability, and, subsequently, potential death. We report the case of a 24-year-old male patient with stab wounds leading to a right-sided chest penetration three hours prior to presentation.

Hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT) is a rare genetic disorder characterized by refractory recurrent epistaxis and gastrointestinal bleeding. Recent studies have reported the hemostatic effects of tyrosine kinase inhibitors on HHT-related bleeding. A 67-year-old man with HHT underwent laparoscopic radical nephrectomy for right renal cell carcinoma discovered during an investigation of anemia.

For silicon-based devices using dielectric oxides doped with rare earth ions, their electroluminescence (EL) performance relies on the sufficient carrier injection. In this work, the atomic GaO layers are inserted within the Er-doped GeO nanofilms fabricated by atomic layer deposition (ALD). Both Ga(CH) and Ga(CH) could realize the ALD growth of GaO onto the as-deposited GeO nanofilm with unaffected deposition rates.
