Unlabelled: Growth velocity was determined in 121 boys and 58 girls with constitutional delay of growth and development (CDGD) of familial origin. No data were included from patients suffering from growth hormone insufficiency (i.e. neurosecretory dysfunction for growth hormone) or any disease. From 479 values obtained in boys and 230 values obtained in girls the 25th, 50th and 75th percentiles were calculated. The mean growth velocity in children and adolescents with CDGD before the beginning of puberty was lower than the mean growth velocity of other European (British, German or Swiss) standards.
Conclusion: Specific data of growth velocity should be used in patients with CDGD since population-based data may underestimate the normal growth velocity of these patients.

Shale barriers negatively impact thermal recovery processes of oil sand or ultraheavy oil, particularly during the rising stage of SAGD, by affecting oil flow, steam chamber evolution, and heat distribution. Existing mathematical models for the rising stage of SAGD often overlook the influence of shale barriers on the evolution of the steam chamber and heat distribution. This study includes experiments to investigate the impact of a single shale barrier above the production well during the rising stage of the SAGD.

In order to address many issues, such as the inconsistent and unreliable seeding process in traditional mechanical garlic seed metering systems (SMS), as well as the lack of ability to monitor the effectiveness of the seeding, a highly accurate electric-driven metering system (EDMS) was developed and created specifically for garlic seed planters. This study provided a description of the overall structure and functioning principle, as well as an analysis of the mechanism for smooth transit and delivery. A combination of an infrared (IR) sensor, Arduino Mega board, stepper motor, speed sensor, and a Wi-Fi module was employed to operate the EDMS, as well as monitor and count the quantity of garlic seeds during the planting process and determine the qualified rate (QR) and missing rate (MR).

Background: Early menarche is associated with both physical and psychosocial problems. Based on psychological and physical health considerations, for girls with early menarche, some parents and physicians may elect to use gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists (GnRHa) to delay menstruation. This study aimed to explore the effects of GnRHa treatment on the final height of girls with early menarche and build the models to predict the final adult height (FAH).

Introduction: This study aimed to examine the correlation between the growth response in prepubertal children with idiopathic growth hormone (GH) deficiency after 1 year of treatment with GH to the initial clinical and biochemical parameters. Additionally, the secretion dynamics of GH was also studied by analyzing the GH stimulation test profiles in relation to the GH treatment response.
Methods: This retrospective study included 84 prepubertal children (47 males and 37 females) with a definitive diagnosis of GH deficiency.

Objectives: To produce standards of references for quality control and assess the reproducibility of fetal ultrasound Doppler measurements commonly used for blood flow assessment in fetal growth.
Methods: Women with singleton normal pregnancies were prospectively recruited at University College London Hospital, UK, between 24 and 41 weeks. Umbilical artery (UA), middle cerebral artery (MCA), and their pulsatility indices (PI), resistance indices (RI) and ratios such as cerebro-placental (CPR) and umbilical cerebral ratio (UCR) were obtained twice by two sonographers in training or after completion of training, blind to each other's measurements.
