We explore a thermal separation technique for use with Direct Analysis in Real Time (DART). By applying gas temperature ramping, we are able to disburse a mixture of compounds in time. The three components were selected to create a challenging mixture that would not likely be discerned solely using exact mass capabilities. While the thermal separation technique is of low resolution, it preserves the inherent rapid, non-contact, ambient characteristics of the ion source.

The ternary complex effectively prevents droplet aggregation, Ostwald ripening, and phase separation through its gel network, thereby demonstrating its capability in bioactive compound delivery. In this work, the influence of varying chickpea protein isolate (CPI) levels on the microstructure, gel characteristics, stability and functional properties of grape seed proanthocyanidin (GSP) and konjac gum (KGM) stabilized ternary complexes was investigated. Visual appearance indicated the formation of a non-stratified ternary complex as the CPI enhanced to 3-4 %.

This study investigated the valorization of industrial lignin for producing biodegradable polybutylene succinate (PBS)-lignin copolymers. PBS was blended with varying lignin contents (0-45 wt. %) and crosslinked/grafted using dicumyl peroxide (DCP).

Lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries are promising candidates for next-generation energy storage due to their high energy density, cost-effectiveness, and environmental friendliness. However, their commercialization is hindered by challenges, such as the polysulfide shuttle effect, lithium dendrite growth, and low electrical conductivity of sulfur cathodes. Cellulose, a natural, renewable, and versatile biopolymer, has emerged as a multifunctional material to address these issues.

This study explores the impact of blending polyethylene terephthalate (PET) with polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) on the thermal, structural, and mechanical properties of 3D-printed materials. Comprehensive analyses, including Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and mechanical testing, were conducted to assess the influence of blend composition. FT-IR confirmed that PET and PBT blend physically without transesterification, while TGA showed enhanced thermal stability with increasing PET content.

In this study, biodegradable and active films based on sodium alginate incorporated with different concentrations of oils (25% and 50%) from fruit seeds were developed for potential applications in food packaging. The ultraviolet and visible (UV-VIS) spectra of raspberry seed oil (RSO) and black currant seed oil (BCSO) indicated differences in bioactive compounds, such as tocopherols, phenolic compounds, carotenoids, chlorophyll, and oxidative status (amounts of dienes, trienes, and tetraenes) of active components added to alginate films. The study encompassed the color, structure, and thermal stability analysis of sodium alginate films incorporated with RSO and BCSO and their mixtures.
