China's digital economy is currently thriving, with the "dual carbon" targets representing a significant pursuit of economic development. The role of the digital economy in achieving these targets warrants detailed discussion. Using urban panel data from China spanning 2011 to 2021, this paper empirically examines the impact of the digital economy on urban carbon emissions.

As urbanization intensifies and the need for sustainable transportation grows, Mobility as a Service (MaaS) emerges as a promising solution to urban mobility challenges. This study seeks to explore the underlying mechanisms of MaaS from a sustainability perspective and to assess its impact on service experience and user satisfaction. Additionally, it examines how user satisfaction influences the broader adoption of MaaS.

Low back pain (LBP) is a commonly encountered medical disorder in Malaysia's primary care setting, though establishing a direct connection between LBP and the workplace environment in adults is challenging. This case presents a clinic nurse who developed LBP due to a prolapsed intervertebral disc and her clinical management from an Occupational Health Doctor perspective. Her occupational management involved a walk-through survey at an urban hospital, which identified bone marrow aspiration as her most physically demanding task.

Urban water utilities are significant energy users and also key actors in decarbonisation. However, the integrated perspective of urban water supply and wastewater system emissions, the relevant driving forces, and the boundaries of inclusions or exclusions, are rarely discussed. This is due to widely disaggregated data, and complex issues regarding the boundary of the system being investigated.

A novel biochar material with magnetic modification by MnFeO and surficial hydroxyl grafting (h-MFO-BC) was synthesized for capturing HMs (Cd, Pb and Cu) and their competition in composite systems was investigated. The modification of hydroxyl considerably improved the adsorption capacity of HMs. Chemisorption and monolayer and homogeneous reaction dominated adsorption processes.
