Background: The prevalence of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) has surged, with an estimated 1 in 36 eight-year-olds in the United States meeting criteria for ASD in 2020. Autistic individuals face elevated rates of co-occurring medical, psychiatric, and behavioral conditions compared to non-autistic individuals. The rising ASD-patient demand is increasingly outpacing the capacity of ASD-specialty clinics, resulting in urgent need for autism-competent providers in general practice settings.

Background: Functional dyspepsia (FD) is one of the most common gastrointestinal disorders worldwide. Currently, anti-gastric drugs, gastric acid inhibitors, prokinetic drugs, and mucosal protective drugs are widely used in FD patients, however, only a small proportion of patients benefit from these drugs. Studies reported mirtazapine may improve symptoms of FD patients but the efficacy and safety of mirtazapine in the treatment of FD is unclear.

Mirtazapine is a selective serotonergic antidepressant that functions by blocking adrenergic alpha2-autoreceptors and heteroreceptors and inhibiting 5-HT2 and 5-HT3 receptors. It is a noradrenergic drug. Mirtazapine has anxiolytic or sleep-quality-improving effects, aggravates appetite-stimulation, and has stomach emptying functions.

Objectives: To summarise and evaluate Cochrane reviews of pharmacological therapies for adults with fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) pain.
Methods: Systematic search of Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews to May 2024. Generic quality assessment used AMSTAR-2 criteria, validity checks of potentially critical factors in evaluation of analgesic efficacy, and assessment of susceptibility of results to publication bias.
